Performance Management
Leveraging data to promote continuous quality improvement.
CCSO uses analytics and data visualisation tools to monitor the performance of the critical care system, and support decision-making and the implementation of integrated system solutions at the local, regional and provincial levels.
Performance monitoring involves measuring, reporting, and tracking progress to inform strategic decision-making and learning. One of the mandates of CCSO is to monitor the performance of the critical care, neurosurgery and trauma systems, make recommendations for improvement, and support implementation of initiatives targeting access, quality, and system integration.
CCSO provides provincial program oversight for adult, paediatrics, and neonatal intensive care units as well as provincial neurosurgical, trauma, and designated burn programs across Ontario. Performance monitoring includes the report packages outlined below that are regularly distributed to key hospital and system stakeholders:
- Adult, Paediatric, and Neonatal Critical Care Scorecard
- Life or Limb Policy Monitoring Dashboard
- Adult and Paediatric Critical Care Response Team (CCRT) Activity Dashboard
- Daily Provincial Critical Care Situation Report
- Seasonal Respiratory Virus Surveillance Report
- Adult and Paediatric Neurosurgery Scorecard
- Trauma Adult and Paediatric Performance Improvement Indicator Report
- Burns Performance Improvement Indicator Report
